A permit is required to hike the Inca Trail. The Peruvian Ministry of Culture has set the daily limit to 500 permits per day (that includes visitors, guides, and support staff). The permits tend to sell out up to six months in advance. For real-time counts on the number of permits remaining by date, click here
(CONSULTAS tab > Centro Arqueológico: CAMINO INKA > YEAR > MONTH)

NOTE: The Inca Trail is closed for the entire month of February for annual maintenance.
